The session starts with smelling. You work through the fragrance library, find what you are drawn to, and our team helps you balance the mix so the scent actually carries in a room instead of fading within the hour. From there you pour.
Allergen-free fragrance options are available — tell us when you book and we will set your station up accordingly.
This workshop draws a different crowd from our clay sessions. It suits people who want to make something without getting their hands dirty, and it has become a favourite for gatherings — bridal groups, team afternoons, milestone birthdays. Because the result is personal and comes out looking finished, it is also the session people choose when they are making a gift rather than something for themselves.
Our studio is on 22A Street in Sheikh Khalifa City, Ras Al Khaimah, open Wednesday to Friday evenings and Saturday and Sunday afternoons. For groups we also travel: we have run candle sessions in Abu Dhabi and across the northern emirates, bringing the wax, the fragrance library and the full set-up with us. Unlike our pottery workshops there is no kiln and no waiting. Your candle sets during the session and goes home with you the same day, finished and labelled. We include care guidance for the first burn, which decides how evenly the candle burns for the rest of its life.
The boutique candle workshop at ROA Art is AED 150 per person for a session of about 1.5 hours. That covers the full fragrance library of more than fifteen oils, premium natural soy wax, a US-made wooden wick and vessel, the pressed flowers we dry ourselves and your own canvas label. Unlike our pottery workshops there is no kiln firing, so your candle leaves with you the same day. Sessions are by appointment — message us on WhatsApp to arrange a time.
Two things. Most candle workshops hand you a short list of three or four scents and ask you to pick one; here you work through more than fifteen oils and mix your own blend, so what you take home does not exist anywhere else. And the dried flowers on top are real flowers we press and dry in the studio ourselves rather than bought-in decoration, which is why the colour holds instead of browning. We use premium natural soy wax and US-made wooden wicks for the same reason — they burn cleanly and crackle rather than smoke.
Yes. There is no kiln firing involved, so your candle sets during the session and leaves with you finished and labelled. We will also talk you through the first burn, which should run long enough for the wax to melt fully across the whole surface — this prevents tunnelling and is what makes the candle burn evenly for the rest of its life. It matters more than most people expect, and it is the one thing that ruins an otherwise good candle.
Yes. The studio is in Sheikh Khalifa City, Ras Al Khaimah, and for groups we travel across all seven emirates — Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ajman and the northern emirates included. We bring the wax, the fragrance library, the vessels, the dried flowers and the studio team; you provide tables and chairs. Message us with your group size, your date and your city and we will send a format and a price.

If you are joining a group and would prefer to work with a lighter or unscented base, that is straightforward to arrange — just mention it in your WhatsApp message beforehand so we can set up before you arrive.
Yes, and it is one of our most requested formats for bridal parties, team afternoons and milestone birthdays, because the result is personal and already packaged well enough to be a gift. It also pairs with ceramic painting for longer bookings, where guests move between two tables across an afternoon. Tell us your group size and date on WhatsApp and we will put the details together.
